A SCIENTIFIC FUNDING TRIUMPH

TRIUMF, Canada’s National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics, co-produces 15 per cent of Canada’s medical isotopes. At the end of a five-year funding cycle, it needed to secure new funding to continue operations. TRIUMF was relatively unknown within Canada, so Hill+Knowlton developed public affairs strategies alongside integrated communications plans to generate awareness of the laboratory and the critical services it provides. When the spring 2010 federal budget was announced, TRIUMF emerged as one of the largest budget winners – securing total funds of $253 million.
